FAANG - the acronym for most influential US stocks is outdated - Now its MAGNIFICENT 7

FAANG as a term was coined by Jim Cramer from CNBC in the year 2013, originally as FANG representing most influential technology companies in the US. In 2017, with the addition of Apple it became FAANG.

F - Facebook (Now META)
A - Amazon 
A - Apple 
N - Netflix
G - Google (ALPHABET)

But rapidly changing business landscape and dynamics have resulted in upheaval in the above acronym, with new behemoths entering the landscape and old exiting.

1) Magnificent 7 Stocks 

It is not an acronym but a term.

Bank of America analyst Michael Hartnett used this term for the first time to refer to 7 companies dominating the US market.

This term was taken from a western movie from 1960 - "The Magnificent Seven".
