According to Private Circle's "Startup Deals Report 2023", India's startup funding in CY 2023 at Rs. 66908 Cr recording a fall of 62% as compared to CY 2022 at Rs.179377 Cr.
Startup funding has hit the lowest level since CY 2018 when funding was registered at Rs.100930 Cr.
Since 2018, the funding figures were as follow
2018 - 1,00,930 Cr
2019 - 1,33,688 Cr
2020 - 1,37,517 Cr
2021 - 2,41,787 Cr
2022 - 1,79,377 Cr
2023 - 66,908 Cr
It registered highest figure in 2021 at 2,41,787 Cr.
Additionally, only 2 Startups attained Unicorn status in CY 2023

Unicorn Status is for startups reaching valuation of $1 billion or more.
In 2022, the number of startups attaining the Unicorn Status was 23.
